XC70, 2001, back hatch door will not unlock

Door remains in permanent lock!!

Does anyone have links to a schematic to repair?? An operation manual was not included with the car when I bought it used a year ago.

Wondering why Volvo did not put a manual lock/unlock with key anywhere inside or on the car???

Mine wouldn't open, but not because the lock / unlock. Pull the handle and nothing would happen. I finally pushed in first then engaged the handle and it worked. No problems since then. I only mention this since I wasn't sure of your problem.

JMAC, I have a 2004 S60. There is a hidden manual key lock next to the door handle. Your XC70 may have one too.
