S70 1998 Short in Directional Signal circuit

Post by brtff20 »

When the car is shifted from park to any drive or reverse position, the directional signal circuit fuse blows. Is there a wire harness near the shifting mechanism or near the automatic transmission where the shift lever moves which could be shorting it out?

Thanks for any help.

Change any light bulbs lately? Does the car have a tow hitch or any towing lights?
Here's another idea for clue fodder:
Pop the radio, reach in and push the Hazard light switch out and unplug it.
What happens now?
