This has been going on for years
You can be driving along and the car electrical power will shutoff. (proof is that the radio code has to be reset) May or may not continue. When you try to restart the battery is to weak to turn over the engine. A jump start will start the car.
Items replaced most recent first
Battery ground cable and terminal connector
Battery
Ignition switch (electronic)
Fuel Pump Relay
Starter
The car drives great otherwise. But this problem continues to haunt us. We can go for months without a problem then have a flurry of outages occur.

The ground cable replacement was 2 weeks ago- the outage was friday. My wife said the dash warning lights- the SRS was the only one on when the outage occured. Sometimes you can play the radio the lights and the car won't start, no click, no sound at all. The battery has a charge.
That dashboard warning lights all come on, and no start.

I have not found any other posts with the same issues.

Welcome to MVS,

It sounds like you have hit the obvious stuff so the next place I would look is the the junction at the fuse box where the positive battery cable lands. It is a known source of problems.

Do you have to remove the fuse box? How is the connection accessed?

Remove the cover to the fuse box and I think you can inspect it. As I recall you need to remove the wiper arms and the plastic cowl below the windshield to actually get to the junction.

:D OK-Here is the update 12/14/09
Went back to the car with fresh eyes- Closely examined battery connections. This is after I had a mechanic replace the ground cable and connector 2 weeks ago for $ 120 bucks. The positve cable connection could be moved with my hand! It was tight but not tight enough. It was never tightened securely! He was supposed to have examined the positive leads along the wires to the alternator, starter, etc.

Yes you do need to check the mechanic's work!
