WINDOW REGULATOR V70 2002

Post by PATRICKF »

I have replaced the o/s front window regulator and motor on my 2002 v70. i bought the parts new from a volvo dealer. now the window will not go down all the way and when i send it up it gets to the top and comes down a couple of inches. i have heard that the motor need to be reprogrammed after replacement but no one seems to know how to do it.
the reason i changed the parts was that the regulator had come apart from the glass and become bent.

can any one help me ?

Hi Pat, welcome to MVS.
My copy of VADIS says that the dealer has to re-initiate that window through VIDA (their latest software). Hate to tell you but it looks like you're in for a trip to the dealer and a charge for the VIDA and labor.

Hello to PATRICKF, What was the cost at the dealer for programing your window regulator? I know it's months ago but I'm trying to gather every bit of info regarding my 2002 as I can. Thanks

There is no software to install but you have to have VIDA to re-initialize. You can go anywhere you want, as long as they have VIDA, it can be dealer or indy. If I remember right it is about $65 bucks in labor.
