V40 shaking during acceleration

Post by olddaddy »

Our 2000 V40 has started to shake hard when we accelerate either from a stop, or at speed. The shaking appears to be from the passenger side front part of the car. I feel it in the floor, or body, not in the steering wheel or pedals. I recently had the front struts replaced and have double checked all the nuts and bolts for tightness and see nothing unusual there. The car feels smooth when coasting or at a constant speed. I don't see anything odd with the tires which are fairly new. If I push down on the gas pedal even slightly the shaking is very noticeable, but as soon as I back off on the pedal it stops.....any ideas?

You need a new right front axle. Part number is 8251543 and you will also need 9200250 which is an axle lock nut. Unfortunately this one is very common and we stock many of these units.
