When the car does act up, the car idles steady when the shifter is put in "neutral" or in "park", but stalls out when put into gear.

And when cold, most of the times it idles steady when in gear.

Hey,

Unplug the MAF sensor and try running the car until the time it usually screws up, the connector is on the intake hose between the airbox and the throttle body. If there is no change, then the MAF sensor is fine, if it runs better then swap it out for a new one.

Good idea, instead of just replacing the MAF sensor like the mechanic is suggesting. I'll try that today and will read the codes before and after and post back.

Thanks.
