Back on the road again......well, sorta.

Post by NightTrain »

I finally got my 96 GLT on the road, again.....after painstakingly putting it all back together. But, I have a few problems and want to find out if they may be inter-related.

First of all, my heat doesn't work. I get the dreaded blinking lights and no forced air of any kind. I know that my A/C evaporator is out, but so is the evap on my identical Gold GLT, but it still heats.

When I first started it and ran the car, I noticed that the engine-fan constantly ran, and the check-engine light was on. I noticed that I forgot to hook up the ECT sensor and when I did, it took care of the engine-fan problem. I have since had it scanned and it read PO117, which is related to the ECT. This is a hard-fault, so I have to have it manually cleared.

Could this screwup of mine also cause the heat problems that I'm having? If not where do I look first. I do know that the fan was working fine back in the summer before I blew the timing belt.
