steering wheel and fuel filter

my 460 GLE 18 i shuts down after one klm. i think its the fuel filter. where is that located and how do i change it ?
second my steering wheel makes a noise everytime i turn and started to feel heavy. can it be the hydraulic system ? everything started after i checked the safeties box and moved some safeties.

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.

The fuel filter hangs from a bracket under the rear passenger side floor.

Release the fuel pressure before starting to replace the filter. The easiest way to do this is to pull the fuel pump fuse while the engine is running. The engine stops with no fuel pressure left in the pipe. When you see the filter you will see it is an easy job to replace it.

yes underneath the steering wheel. im sure it was a mistake uh ?

When you were working under the steering wheel did you accidentally move the plastic covers around the steering wheel? If the covers are touching the steering wheel this will tend to make it harder to turn and will make a noise as the wheel scrapes over the plastic.

hey Bill . the sound comes from the engine part. i located it at the hydraylic system. but i dont get it why all these happen since i only checked some fuses .

Is there enough fluid in the steering reservoir? Any sign of a fluid leak on the steering?
