s80
Have 79k on my s80 and the transmission just went out. Other problems I have had with it are too numerous to list. I feel like I really got a lemon. Heck, Ill list what I can remember: power steering unit went out at 54k,sky roof had to be replaced, radio am antenna has disconnected twice, cd player keeps eating cd's, bright lights won't stay on, info dial on turn signal doesn't work properly, fabric on winsheild posts is comming off, vinyle on arm rest has disintigrated, auto door locks don't work properly etc. I guess the question is after I get the transmission repaired is it worth keeping? This thing can't bring too much on a trade in. Volvo should know this was a bad year for this model, every else does. Will I have any recourse with them. Thanks for your help.

Volvo Cars North America isn't known to really do much for Volvo owners. That said, don't let it stop you from trying to get their attention. Let us know how it goes.

We have had many problems for the 1999 s80 as well. It has cost us more in monthly repairs than the payment itself (seems that way, anyway). Airbags deployed as well.
I have heard from other s80 owners that this was a bad year for volvo's. It is the only volvo I have had and I am so not impressed I don't know where to begin. The car is a genuine POS, and the repair shop and Vovlo reps could not care less.
Does volvo do anything for their customers who gut stuck with a lemon? Most people I talk to about our car are shocked as they are led to believe that volvos are reliable and dependable. This one is, it's reliable and dependable that something will go wrong with it on a monthly basis.
