Me neither,and also don't know how that actually works.

I know that they pull ecu from the car and connect it to some computer.Then,they clear factory settings and upload new setings in it.

I saw that on tv,but i don't know how that works in real life.

In Serbia we have H&S chiptunning,an well known european tuner for all models of cars.

The euro car club im with does it like this with their VW's
Essentially they hook a computer up to it, run it on a dyno, and re write a few codes to tweak it to peak performance.

as I was recently looking into a few of these chips and found the majority are just a piece of breadboard and a led light.

I found you a couple of options for the non turbo and the $250 chip looks like a decent power bump for your car.

I am currently in negotiation with inMotion to get a volume discount for a group buy. I have also asked them to remove P0410 code from the ECU software as a perfect workaround to the dumb SAS problems on these cars; it does sound promising so far.

all those cheap chips do is basically tell your ecu the engine is still cold and it dumps in more fuel to make it feel like you have more power.

keep us posted on the group buy from Inmotion, im looking at upgrading the ecu in my 850T.

I purchased one of there upgrades for my other 850T back in 06 and it made a HUGE difference. I was very satisfied. I seen they went UP on there tunes though. I think back then i only paid like 200.00 for the tune...

Group buy not possible as it is often way to much hassle for the supplier with logistics. Removal of the P0410 code is possible but it is inMotions policy(along with most tuners) not to touch the diagnostic system. PM me for price information.

I have some chips for my 80s cars (not nearly as sophisticated of a computer) and for those they typically just advance the timing and require premium. Also for WOT the computer would go open loop, so you can change things there. For cars running closed loop mode (part throttle, normal RPMs), there is not much else to do besides timing.
