I noticed a verry slight hesitation during acceleration while engaged to the Cruise Control on the interstate at 70 mph after about 10 minutes to driving and then goes away after about 30 minutes (wow, what a runoff sentence). When I turn the cruise control off I do not feel the ever so subtle hesitation. Honestly, I want to block out the possibility of a ETM failure (although it is always in the back of my mind) and maybe it is an issue with the PCV. The system was cleaned a dealership twice (at 72,000 and 90,000 miles) with the previous owner of the car after he/she complained of hesitation during acceleration. All the software has been updated and see what people's opinions are before I start taking a lot of stuff apart...
Thanks
Jan

I wouldn't think the PCV would have anything to do with it, but if you are concerned about it, it wouldn't hurt to check. Pull out the dipstick at idle once the car is warmed up and look for any smoke. If there is no smoke, grab a balloon or piece of paper and put it over the opening. It should be lightly sucked into the opening if the system is functioning correctly.
I'm thinking your hesitation with the cruise control could be the vacuum line under the battery tray into the cruise control pump. Check to see if it's cracked at the kink right under the battery. I'm actually not entirely sure if the ETM-controlled models have this or not, I've never poked around in the innards of one of these.
The cruise control on my '98 is an annoying piece of junk system, it will wait until it starts going uphill and then overreact and drop a gear to maintain speed. I'd hope they improved that on the newer models...my 88 Accord's worked better

Thanks for the information JABLACKBURN...
the battery on my vehicle is in the rear (I believe) right next to the spare tire. This vacuum line, is it in the front or the back? And where exactly, there seem to be quite a few hoses/lines next to the engine block.
Thanks
Jan

Oops, I'm sorry, ignore me. I think the ETM is the sole controller of the cruise control in the newer models.

OK, did the trick with the paper and I definitely have suction and no smoke...one of the reasons I thought that something was wrong with the PCV system was that I noticed some oil leaking about 2 months ago; I opened the covers for the spark plug wires and sure enough there was oil everywhere on top the engine block. After cleaning the area up (including replacing the old spark plugs - also covered in oil) I bought a new seal for the oil cap and replaced the old clamp around the PCV hose; haven't seen any more oil leaking. I am just glad that I do not have to remove the intake manifold to get to the oil trap...
Once again, thanks for the info JABLACKBURN
