The sunroof on my 98 C70 will not close all the way. This is a persistently annoying problem as I live in FL where it constantly rains.
I do not believe that it is an electrical problem as the sunroof moves all the way back and the majority of the way forward as it always has.
Once the sunroof reaches the position at which it used to rise up and create a seal it gets stuck, ceases to move forward and automatically begins to back up. The problem seems to be with the interior visor which is stuck in front of the exterior part of the sunroof (the glass part). The interior visor is a couple of inches in front of the exterior part and I can not push it behind the sunroof. Because they move forward in unison the exterior part stops moving forward once the interior visor reaches its forward position.
If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do to remedy this problem or knows of an easy way to remove the interior visor so that I can allow the sunroof to shut completely please let me know. At this point I am not concerned with using my sunroof again, I just want it shut.
If this explanation was not clear please let me know, I will try to explain it more fully and provide pictures if necessary. Thanks in advance.

By visor im assuming you mean the slide so your not getting blasted by our great fl sun?
If thats the case try to push it up a little and slide it back. than pull it back down. I know on my 850 I can push it up out of the track. if nothing else id say get a small step ladder and open your sun roof all the way back.
then check the slider from the top so you can see if you have room to play with it and hopefully get it back to how it is suposed to be.
Idk if its just with 850s, but the slider is supposed to be behind the moonroof to allow sliding.
slide wont go past sun/moon roof. sun/moon roof pulls slide back when it goes back.
If nothing else, take an *aireal* shot and post it for all to see.

Just found this and wondered about my c70 roof that won't close or pop up to full closure position. Just happened a few days ago.
I had the rail replaced on the other side about 5 years ago, which cost me about $600 at the dealer.
Now, I priced it and it looks like about $120 plus 1.5 hours labor.
Did anyone try the method of clearing the track etc. and did it work?
I'd rather not shell out $300 if I don't have to.

Hey if you two, post some pics it would help... just saying.
Like take an aerial shot of the tracks / roof area with your sun/moon roof all the way *back* inside the car. Hopefully that can clear the first post question very quickly. as so that I and others can see what you are talking about... *Would show why your *visor* is not closing since it is infront of your roof you could keep it all the way forward while the roof is all the way back.

I tried this method on mine when I had the problem and it worked fine.

I cant believe I did not ask this before... What part of florida... I live in the orlando area.
Rob thanks for trying to help, sorry it has taken me so long to post a reply.
I was talking about the slide and I've tried to push it up and down to get it back to the appropriate position but no matter what i do it seems that something is blocking it from moving into place. I have tried to stick my hand in between the slide and sunroof but have not been able to locate any obstruction. The tracks are clear I just cant get the slide behind the sunroof and the sunroof wont close unless I do.
I have tried to post a couple of pictures but it keeps telling me that my pixel levels are too high. Probably a stupid question but does anyone know how i can lower the pixel level?

Ok definitely a stupid question, changing the pixel size is pretty easy. Here are some pics, let me know if any other angles will help diagnose the problem.

If it wasn't for you living that far away I would say. meet me somewhere and we can work on it.
Def email him the photos so we can get you back to a closed moonroof before the rain starts./
