hello everyone. I'm back with a little more difficult problem. With the help from OzarkLee and others, I was able to get my cooling fans working in both vehicles again. THANK YOU! I have installed many remote starters and keyless entry systems in plenty of vehicles. I ran into my first problem with my 95 850. I re-traced every single step I can think of. The remote start portion of it works fine. For some reason the lock unlock options won't work. I have identified the gray/red wire and the yellow/gray wire and ground them both out to make sure they are correct. Now I hook the unit up to it and I get absolutely nothing. Some people tell me I need relays, some people say it's because it's negative pulse, others say I don't need relays, some say to run it off the central locking system. I AM COMPLETELY LOST ON THIS ONE. Any and all help will be much appreciated.

And some people notice that you haven't told us what kind of autostart you've installed
or described if it uses neg, pos or onboard relay outputs for the locks.
Make, Model of the autostart, please?

Hello. thank you for your quick response. Sorry I guess I should have mentioned that. It is an Ultra Start G11-XR remote starter/keyless entry. As far as the onboard relays or what it puts out I'm not exactly sure. Thank you

If I'm reading the right installation manual, you have neg ( - ) output door triggers that are limited to 250ma.leroy-schelde wrote:Hello. thank you for your quick response. How and where have you connected the green ( lock ) and blue ( unlock ) leads from the starter?
And do you see any parking light flashes when you try to lock/unlock with the starter remote? 9 of them, maybe?

Hello thank you for getting back to me. I have been playing around with it for a while and I have been able to get the transmitter to UNLOCK the door(the gray and red wire) but every single yellow and gray wire I hook up to, none of them seem to do the job for the LOCK option. The funny thing is and every post and forum I have read tells me that if I ground the yellow and gray wire, it should lock the door. Still haven't gotten it to lock any which way. As far as the flashes goes, I receive no error codes. Someone also suggested looking for gree/tan or green/brown wire. I haven't had any luck so far with the LOCK option. Any suggestions?? thank you

To make your aftermarket autostart/keyless entry system to work with any car's power door lock system you need to perform these steps:
1. Verify what (negative or positive pulse) the car's power doorlock system gives to lock and unlock the door. Different car makers use different systems: most Japanese use positive but old British cars may use negative ..so check and double check or you will run into big trouble.
2. After confirming what takes (+ or -) to work a door lock system you now can integrate your autostart/keyless entry with the car doorlock system. A relay is needed if your keyless system gives out different pulses (you know them from the manual) from the car's doorlock system. And hook them up to driver door instead of central doorlock system for security safety reason.
Are you MECP certified, by the way? If not yet get yourself certified ASAP before you screw up big time.

the lock gives a pulse of 3.17 and the unlock gives a pulse of 1. something. like i said the unlock works fine but its the lock thats giving me trouble i do know that its a negative pulse system. ive done all my testing to it and all around it.

Is the original, factory, remote receiver still plugged in? If so it may be messing with the new system.
