1985 B230E 240GL Cold air intake

Post by egads »

Hey guys, just wondering if I will break things if I mod my airbox to a cold air intake on my 240? There is no AMM/MAF to worry about and temps are incredibly rarely below 0C. The car has a pulsair setup and a K-Jet CIS also and was looking to get that bit more kick again with the cold air. Pulls like a demon already, just greedy. :-)

This modification is often done by the car when the air intake thermostat jams. They carry on running but sometimes are a tad sluggish when cold. With the temps you have there should be no problems.

Done this on lots of Volvos, just rip the whole lot out, flaps and all,you then just have an empty box, that mixes both hot and cold intakes. It works! The latest mod to my 760 V6,is to remove the filter box complettely and fit a custom air filter similar to the K&N type, this gives you a lot more space in the engine compartment for maintainance,in my case it provided room for installation of my HHO cell .
