Volvo Repair Database Monroe Sensa-Trac Struts on my Volvo

Post by turbotim2 »

Just wanted to put it out there that if you are looking for a good set of struts for your Vovlo, I just picked up a pair of Monroe Sensa tracs for $48 each through Amazon with free shipping. These are a great OEM quality strut.

They are currently $48.55 for a '97 Volvo 850. Prices can and do change weekly. Look on the right side of this Amazon.com Monroe Sensa-Trac Strut page.

^^^ There's the link to the Monroe struts. That model strut fits 1997 850s, and probably all 850s, but use the "car selection" tool on that page to make sure.

(I'm not offering my opinion about these struts, just the link. Never tried em.)

I now have them in both of our 850's. I think they are a great OEM type replacement strut. They are made in Spain if that matters to any one. I believe they will fit all 850's and some S/V70's as well but use their fitment chart as Mathew suggested.

I installed those struts 3 years ago on my 94 850, still working great today and hasn't leaked any oil.
I think my coil springs are getting weak now.

Will the volvo mounts do for the monroe struts or do you have to purchase the monroe mounting hardware?

You can use any brand mount for the Monroe struts.

Welcome to MVS,

The Sachs / Boge don't suck but I have been happy with Bilstien TC shocks and struts and they fit in your budget.

I bought a pair of Monroe struts for my son's car, the ride is fine but the handling isn't as good as OEM or the Bilstiens. I do need to buy him a new pair of shocks to complete the project. He is off at college and he is the designated driver 9 out of 10 times and he complains about the rear end sagging when the car is filled with his fraternity brothers on a Saturday night.
