OK I see it better now even though it's not yet very clear tool in my mind but I will figure it out very soon.
Is the tool only to hold the two cams solid in their slot but how can we orientate( align) the two cams. There is a picture where the two cams are laid out in the cylinder ,is it the right orientation of the two cams .

There are slots in the back ends of the cams (the end opposite where the pulleys attach). You put a tab from the tool into each slot on the cam and it holds the cams in alignment while you install the pulleys. I suggest you blow up all of the directions to a readable size, then print them out and study them before starting any work.

I did that but no success yet. Could the crankshaft pulley has been as well removed and not been re-aligned. How can I make sure that the crankshaft is where it is supposed to be when the cams are aligned on their original marks. It's a real mess and do not even know that the crankshaft is in place. Which cylinder should I be looking at when crankshaft is aligned on its mark. Thanks.

Can you please tell me what car the manual was from? I am trying to make the tool for my s70 turbo and it looks very similar but I want to be sure.

So do you think the camshaft tool dimensions would be the same as the S70?
Please could someone help me out!! I have made the tool locally and followed the recommendation to re-assemble the engine. When completed I could turn the engine , it did fired but the two first cylinder seem to not responding. I replaced the sparks and checked the injectors ,they seem to work fine . what else might I check ???

I have the same Engine but I can not see the marks in the gears looking from passenger side but if I see from drivers side I can se marks in the gears When I saw them I noticed that there is around 45-60 degrees of disalignment between camshaft gears.
Is that possible that car works under these conditions?? car is working now but with very reduced power it acelerates very slow and sounds like a diesel engine.
Should I uninstall timing belt, gears and align everything??
I appreciate in advice you valuable advise!!

Were the timing gears removed from the camshafts?...The marks should be on the right side (passenger) and it sounds like the gears were taken off and then re-installed back wards with the wrong side facing out to the right...If it is 45-60 degrees off, there is a good chance that the pistons are striking the valves which might cause noise that would sound like diesel clatter...I would expect to find bent valves...
