Combine C70 with 850/S70/V70/XC70 forums?

Post by matthew1 »

Hey guys,

I've spoken to moderators about this, and they've given feedback. Now it's your turn (moderators feel free to vote and discuss this here also).

Long, Long Ago, In a Galaxy Far Away: Several years ago I discontinued the standalone XC70 forum and made the two other forums the place to put XC70 posts:

Volvo 850, S70, V70 and XC70 Forum (1992-2000)
Volvo V70, XC70, and S60 Forum (2001-2010)

My Reasoning: XC70s are so similar to those other Volvo genres that it made sense to do it that way. I'm no car parts mathematician, but I'd be surprised if the parts overlap was less than 95% between a 1998 V70 and a 1998 V70 XC, for example. I suspect the same can be said about the C70.

I haven't heard any complaints since the switch.

Question: do you think C70 posts should be in those two forums? Would the "cross pollination" help you get your answers answered faster and/or in more detail?

I'm for it. Mechanically, a C70 is very similar to the S70/V70's. The interior is different, yes, but I don't think the C70 forum gets much traffic so it would probably help people with those cars to get their questions answered by people who know a bit about their own cars and can help them guess. :)

I'm all for it. I have often found solutions to C70 problems by searching the S/V70 forums.
