I went the route of breaking off the old box and then I used a 1.25" hole saw to take a bit of material off of the side of the accessory bracket.
There isn't a lot of room to get a die grinder in there with the box in place. You might be able to use an air saw but even that would be a pain because you cannot see where you are working with the
I can now get the box off with a small 1/4" 10mm socket and a wobble extension. I don't even remove the intake or throttle body anymore. After the box is loose I snake it around behind the throttle body and it comes out the side near the starter.
