Catastrophic Failure 04' S60

Post by Marta1907 »

This is what I have. Message apprears "Anti-skid disabled - service required" along with the temp gauge pegging out, tach and speedo going to zero and the AC quits. I had the dealer replace the BCM 6 months ago. This error has occured 3 times since the BCM replacement. The dealer has had the car now for 4 weeks claiming they can't find the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

This very likely is b/c your ABS controller gone bad.

Your pegging out temp gauge could be resulted a stuck open t-stat and/or bad ECT sensor.

BTW, those are not catastrophic issues, just have to deal with them ASAP.

Somehow I missed this. Since your dealer replaced the controller, you should just take the car back ask them fix it under warranty (I think parts is one year). It is likely the controller they replaced with is defective as well since all of them are "re-manufactured".

Is the BCM and ABS controller the same part? The temp gauge pegs out but the car is not hot. I don't think it's the T-stat.
