Reset your service light- S70 1998

I was successful with the following method (in addition to your suggestion)
1. Press and hold odometer reset button
2. Turn ignition switch to position II
3. Continue holding odometer reset button till service lamp flashes (app. 10 sec)
4. While service lamp flashes release odometer reset button.
5. Confirm by turning ignition switch off, then on again.

I have a 98 S70 and this procedure did not work. What is the (in addition to your suggestion part)?

I am afraid to bring my car to the dealer in my area, he breaks more things than he fixes.
