newer ETM in 2001 V70

Post by keybuster324 »

Someware in the many pages I have read here (I think) I read that the etm from P2 models could be used from years 2001 - 2009, is this true? If this is possible, myvolvopartsonline.com has a 2003 throtle body (same as etm?) for under $400.00 then would you only need to have it programed?

It would seem that someone would have tried it by now. Forgive me if i am just babling.

Sorry, the ETA (Electronic Throttle Actuator) used in post-'02 vehicles cannot be used in vehicles originally equipped with an ETM. The reason is that the ETM is its own computer and sits on the CAN bus, while the ETA is a 'dumb' 6-wire electronic throttle that's directly controlled by the ECU.
