1990 240 DL Charging issues

I recently acquired a 1990 240DL that has a charging issue. The alternator was replaced and it still does not charge. I am in the process of acquiring replacement tail light components that appear damaged and not working as suggested in other posts. Does anyone have the wiring for this alternator? The info I found online is sketchy and does not show all of the wiring details, I want to make sure it is properly connected, I was told the terminals were broken when the belt broke. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, I found that one or one similar on the web. I have found 3 wires near that location that are not attached, I assume one is the exciter ? The red is obviously the link from the starter There is also an 18 ga black and an 8 or 10 ga green. I guess the answer would be yes, can you get me the full diagram

The full diagram is attached but I don't think it will help as all of the wires at the alternator are red. Black is usually earth (ground). Is your alternator sitting in rubber bushings? If it is it won't be earthed.
