The White Ghost as we call it a 2001 S-80 2.9 is going in to have the timing belt changed along with the PVC system replaced. My selling dealer has never done one on a Volvo. They have done DHC belts on Chrysler, Dodge and Jeeps and are debating if they will send it out to have the work done or keep it in house. I totally trust these guys and have been doing business with them for over 15 years. My question is should I replace the water pump when they do the timing belt, the car now has 45K on it but is ten years old. I'm thinking it would be stupid not to do it so I guess I'm just looking for you guys to tell me the same (if you think so).

As long as you are in there by all means replace the water pump the charge is minimal at this point.
