engine system fix next service message + engine check light

Can anyone help me with more light over this message? Recently I change my oil, oil filter and fuel filter on my S80 TDI, year1999 (2.5 TDI not D5). ON my way back I receive this message on display and engine check light on the dashboard. What can be the problem?

Are you saying that you did an oil change yourself, instead of taking the car to a dealer for a regular service?

If so, it is normal for a "Next service due" message to come on when the recommended mileage between services is clocked up since the flag was reset at the last dealer service. It does not put the engine check light on my S80 2.4 Bi-fuel nor my previous S80 2.9GLE, so I can't comment on that. Maybe the TDI is different or British models like mine are subtly different from wherever yours was first sold.

Elsewhere on this site there are instructions on how to reset the "Next service due" message without hooking up to a computer but it doesn't work on my car.
