440 air conditioning blower fan problem

Hi
my son's 440Xi has a problem with the A/C blower. The blower fan does not work at all unless the A/C is selected when the fan blows at full power only. I searched a few months ago and found a forum that gave the answer. It was a poor solder connection on the A/C circuit board. There were great pictures identifying exactly what to do to correct it. At the time I saved teh web link but it no longer works ... I guess the page has been archived/taken down.

So I wondered if anyone could help out or direct me to a aolution or pics to help. The weather is just about warm enough to consider doing the repair as it will take time to get the A/C unit out I think
