I was changing the pads and rotors on my 98 V70 GLT this weekend. As my luck would have it, I broke the lower caliper bolt on the driver's side. I haven't gone back to take a look at the damage and I had to order a couple of caliper bolts from the dealer. It wasn't rusted; I was stupid and broke it while I was remounting the caliper. Right before it broke, my brain said that was enough, but I guess it took too long for the message down to the wrench. Any tips on getting it drilled out?

Might help to hit it with an air impact wrench if you have any air tools...or bang on the end of a big screwdriver and and some PB Blaster if it's still stuck in there real good. Then have at it with the drill...sometimes you can start drilling into them (at least in wood), get the bit (or extractor bit) stuck in, and then slowly back the screw out with the drill. I don't know if that will work in your case or not.

If part of the bolt is still exposed, you can try visegrips on it. If not, you can get a bolt extractor from your local auto parts store or Sears store or Sears online.
