The engine/tranny I took out of my car had just a hole where that middle arrow is.

Hmm, well I guess I'll leave mine open too. Maybe it's an overfill drain...

On a side note you should have seen me trying to get the mount pulled down to line up the two holes in the pic (far left and middle) so that both of them would bolt to the mount. Stupid I know, but from the angle I was at I couldn't see the third mount post while looking at the other two. Turns out the third mount bolt (the top one on the mount) was broke off blow the surface of the block from the last guy. There's no way I can get in there to drill it without pulling the engine, so I put the other two bolts in it. I'll ride around on 2/3 until I decide to replace the RMS.

To figure out the bolt sizes I ended up buying an assortment at Lowes and trying each 'till I found a match.

Brilliant.....effective......simple solution. Unlike something I would do. I usually get all wrapped up in the more complicated possibilities and overlook the simple ones. You're not the guy that invented the 'bread clip fix" for the AC compressor clutch gap are you?

No, I'm not (actually had to go look that one up) my compressor's still fine. There are some ingenious fixes out there for these Volvo's. It may be that dealer repairs are so expensive or in my case far away. But I have done the ABS module fix, the Blower control transistor replacement, the clean the PTC with brake cleaner and put it back in (all of which I found through sites like this). I had a current drain, turned out to be the glovebox light...that came out. In a pinch on a trip to Florida I painted some cracked vacuum lines with liquid electrical tape. It was supposed to be a temp fix. That was 4 years ago (although on another vehicle). I'm actually scared to take this Volvo on long trips due to the unavailability of parts at local parts places Autozone, AdvanceAuto, Orielly's none of which had the turbo coolant line I need. Online parts houses are great, but it's sometimes nice to be able to pick up parts immediately at a local store.
