99 V70 slowly deteriorating need opinions.

Post by et3surge »

First of all this car has served it's purpose but I have to decide whether to continue putting more $ into it or time to move on. If someone can suggest a good inexpensive site to get some of these parts or if someone knows a reputable/knowledgeable Volvo mechanic, non-dealer in the Miami/South Florida area, I would consider keeping it. All my problems seem to be in this forum but I don't have just one or two problems...

Short list:
All plastics are starting to crumble like in rear door latch or panel clips for side and tailgate panels
light bulbs keep burning out way too regularly
New and old battery is draining intermittently
coolant is emptying out but no visible leaks anywhere
rear seat belt locks up when seat tiltied
SRS lights always on
Check Engine lights always on
shocks/struts all shot
headliner all loose
Dash has the cricket noise when car vibrates
Need new tailgate latch/lock
Passenger door handle broken cable
Had to bypass interior heater because it was leaking in the rear seat floor board (no interior heater)

Ideas anyone??

If you don't work on the car yourself, it's a money pit. Sounds like you don't, and so it is time to move on.

Individually all of these things are a fairly easy repair but I'm with whoa, if you rely on a shop to make the repairs for you then the cost of the repairs might well exceed the value of the car.

The plastics and the headliner glue are particularly irritating since they should not be falling apart in the first place. More environmentally friendliness gone wrong.

I agree w/ the previous. If you don't do your own work then move on.
