Help, Advice, Owners' Discussion and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's stylish, distinctive P2 platform cars sold as model years 2001-2007 (North American market year designations).
Yippee, I'm back to owning a Volvo. Yes, it isn't the most glamorous of Volvo's but few other cars give you that "comfy and well being" feeling, ignition on or off. There's a fly in the ointment though. The drivers door central locking is a little weird. Use the remote control to lock it and it double blips. It locks and then unlocks while the other doors just lock. Has anyone come across this before and is there an easy fix?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Thanks jda2000. It didn't work but any help is useful. I'm not aware of any work previously being done on the door, so could this be a software fault? Seems very peculiar because the central locking does in effect work but just in reverse on the drivers door.
Did you ever sort out this problem? My 2001 V70 occasionally does the same thing with the front passenger door and has done so for the 6 years I've had it. It's an intermittent but annoying problem as I always need to do a visual check of the button for that door before leaving the car. Sometimes if I unlock and re-lock the car it works otherwise I have to manually press the button with the car unlocked and then lock the car with the remote.
