S-80 1999 How to remove and replace a fuel pump?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Was just wondering if you had replaced the fuel pump already and if you have any other advice, links, tips to offer? Also, I believe the access is under the back seat but are there any links/pdfs that show this process? By the way, if anyone can respond right away it would be GREATLY appreciated - been stranded since 12/2, just my daughter and I, replaced the filter yesterday, checked all fuses, etc, still no fuel pressure from the valve. Finally located a pump but my brother is having to bring it from 160 miles away as there was none nearby - he's on his way now so I need some info quick! Thanks! Lynelle

The following files tell how to get to the fuel pump i.e. rear seat removeal...
The side cushion is a bear to remove. You have to release the 'spring clip' from the lower clip. To do this you have to reach under and with a strong finger push the center spring clip upward and then left the cuhsion backward/upward to the rear.

Yes, there is a nipple on top of the fuel tank also... this may be the source of the 'leak/fuel smell'. Check it before you get stuck into the pump!

If fuel is leaking from the nipple, two choices, try and seal it or replace the tank.

Good luck!

My 2001 S80 2.4T did not have this seat frame, this video should help you. I bought the special tool to get the ring of, makes it way easier. Its fairly straightforward.
