Dear people,
The 460 of the misses has recently developed the following problem.
When cold, engine starts good, but when turned off, and want to start it again within several minutes, the starter doesn't react,. though all the lights function.
After a while (cooling down?) it functions like normal.
Any diagnosis?

Re: 460 hot starting issues
Hi, does the starter click, or do you hear it spin but just not engaging? Or is it just dead altogether?
This could be a problem with solenoid on the starter, it's not very common but I have had dealings with starters that refuse to work at all when hot!
Kind Regards,
Craig!

Do the ignition lights on the dash dim slightly when this happens? If not, then it maybe down to your ignition switch!
Try testing for power down at the starter when it is warm and playing up, easier said than done i know, just get someone to flick the key on while your down there with a test light! The ignition switch maybe getting hot and a contact or two breaking down! Worth a try! I'll ask my rotating electrics supplier what he thinks!
