what happened? won't run

i recently went on a buissness trip, begining of april, came home and the battery was dead on my 99 s80. after a quick jump the car idled like crap, sputtering and choking, then just wounld not run. there was also fluid,moistue maybe, leaking from the exhaust. this particular vehicle has the recall for a new computer program or something, has not been done yet car won't run to get it to the dealer. but prior to this trip the car ran fine, i had to move it lots to plow snow. now nothing. somebody told me to get the fuel system flushed, sounds expensive i don't want to just throw money at this vehicle and hope it fixes it, because of some 10% ethenol in the gas now. please help.

My V70 does this when the battery is disconnected. The idle acts very strange.
What you should try is disconnecting the battery terminals, charging the battery up, turning the key to II position, and reconnect the terminals. And see if it runs better.
