Rebuilt ABS modules, advance exchange or rebuild

Post by Matty Moo »

For $60, you get a rebuilt unit sent to you. Why does the price seem so low? 25 minutes worth of work doesn't warrant a $100+ price tag.

In 2009, I started repairing ABS modules after doing my own. I've done around 500 of them in the past year, selling mostly on the forums and eBay.

What sets mine apart from others is that you don't have any downtime at all. I actually send you a rebuilt module up front. That way you don't have to drive your car without a speedometer or leave your harness exposed to the elements. My price is also extremely reasonable at $60, and this includes a lifetime warranty. You simply install it, then send the old module back to me within 15 days. I don't do core charges, yet at least, as long as people keep returning them.

If your module is hacked up or previously been repaired, I can't take it on exchange. I can repair it though.

I keep about 75 modules in stock, mostly abs and tracs units for 96-98 models, and quite a few 99-2000 modules. If it's something I don't have that day, I will have one coming back. Currently, I offer no support for the S80.

I accept Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, Amex and Discover.

If you're interested or have questions, email me at [email protected]
below is a picture of how I put them back together. The case goes back together exactly the way it was, no gouges or cuts and no gobs of sealant.

I'd be interested too, but I am not sure about the state of my current module. I took it apart, reflowed and soldered points, but it didn't take. I have a 99 v70 glt with tracs. I am totally willing to do the exchange if you're willing to take my module. you can email me at [email protected]. Thanks

Aaron.

Generally, I avoid units that have been "Touched", on exchange at least. I'll repair them though.

Mainly being if your core isn't repairable, I'm out of a unit. I've had a couple cores come back with water damage from not being sealed up properly, and it's hard for me to send one back out that looks like someone took a dremel or cutting tools to it. I have to pay anywhere from $20-$40 for non-working units, and they're hard to find. I've figured out why I'm one of the few doing advance exchange. I have one core that I took that was hacked open. I can't get rid of that thing for $20. It's hideous.

I keep the price low as it ensures some amount of volume, and I'm still making good money for my time.

I used Matty Moo from VS, I think he's fattymatty here, for an ABS module 3 months ago. I went to his house, for $45 and he put it on and everything. Extremely professional and nice guy too. He even threw in a free oil dipstick, because mine was broken. You don't see that kind of service a lot, and I would not hesitate to send him more business.

Hi Matty.

Tim here and with a ABS TRACS issue. 1998 V70 that fails upon occasion and leaves me with the usual dash lights although everything else seems to work. What do you from me in order to do a swap? I can be reached via [email protected].

Thanks in advance!
Tim

I just want to let every one know that Matt fixed my module by exchanging it with one in his inventory.
The procedure was painless and I highly recommend him for fixing your bad modules.
