Volvo S80 2003 A/C Problems

I don't often drive our 2003 Volvo S80, since it is my wife's car,but today I took it out for a drive to central VA and have had some A/C issues. The A/C seems to have "some" cool air coming out of the vents, but even with the fan on high, it seems like the air is being "deflected" for some reason. I can hear the blower getting louder and louder and I increased fan speed, and what air comes out seems cool, but it is no where as "bold" as it is in my Nissan or Mazda. Any ideas? It does seem like something is blocking the air from coming into the cabin.
