95 850 GLT A/C cycles frequently AND coolant level fine

Post by rainmaker23 »

95 850 GLT A/C cycles onand off frequently AND coolant level looks fine though I'm using one of those cheapie guages from retain store... but it DOES range EXACTLY between the suggested high and low range.

But not getting any cold air... and the compressor cycles on and off about every 3 - 5 seconds. Is there a sensor I can check? How can I check if the clutch needs to be replaced? How can I tell if the evaporator REALLY needs to be replaced?

Can I really "overfill" the refrigerant without causing danger? (Maybe the guage is not accurate? But it DOES cycle between EXAXTLY the low and high level.)

Thanks!

the pressure with the ac on should be constant not fluctuate between 20 to 45, it shoul be stabile at 45.If it is not and the compresor is on and off you need to add more refrigerant,The sign when you have enough is when you have air colder than outside with 35-40 degree and the refrigerant from the charging can(if you use wallmart kit)will stop going in to the system.keep charging it till the compresor will runn continu
