v70awd abs failure
v70awd abs failure
My 1998 v70awd has developed a problem with its abs system and i'm not sure what the problem is??? The problem occurs usually while the brakes are not being applied (but sometimes does seem to happen more often on rough stretches of road)... a small buzzing sound is heard for about a second (seems to be coming from behind the dash or the passenger footwell) and the abs warning light and trac light on the dash illuminate and stay on usually for the rest of the journey. Sometimesthe problem has happened while braking and seems to effect the braking performance, which is rectified once the brakes are reapplied. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem? Big thanks.

I would say start with cleaning your ABS wheel sensors. I would start with the front two, and see if it makes a difference.
When you pull off each of the front wheels you will see a gear-looking thing on the axle. Just above that is a metal cylinder, which is the ABS sensor. Clean off both of these and put your wheels back on and see if it makes a difference.'
