Lee, are all Bembos "Chinese"? How can I tell? The Chinese Brembos have a terrible reputation if you are replacing the rotors.
After all my stress and agony over choosing rotors (see last week's post) I finally decided to order the Ate from FCP. They didn't have Ate in stock for the rear (even though the web site said they did) and they substituted Brembo's (without consulting me
When I complained they said I could return the Brembo's but the Sales Manager said that he didn't think they will be continueing to carry the Ate brand rotors. He and another sales associate repeatedly reassured me that Brembo's are great rotors, top quality, etc.
I am trying to decide whether to go to the trouble of installing the Brembo's or send them back and find something else for the rear. After hearing more than one person talk about problems they had with the Brembos, I'd just about be more inclined to use AutoZone Duralast rotors. I think they must be made in China too, but at least with AutoZone I can drive down the street and complain face to face in order seek satisfaction if something goes wrong.
