Idle problems 2004 S60

Post by xingon »

I have a 2004 S60 with 80K on it. The idle was low and started idling rough, whether the engine was hot or cold. And the CEL light was on with a code of 2407. I took it to the Volvo mechanic. After 3 days, they said it needed new plugs and a mass air flow sensor. He said the engine throttle was fine. I have changed the spark plugs, car had same problem. I installed a new MAFS last night. THis morning, the car idles extremely low 500 rpms, if it idles at all. It will start and die as soon as I take my foot off the gas, but if I keep my foot on the gas to keep up the rpms, it runs find and drives fine. I have already replaced the fuel rail sensor also. Any ideas of something that I may have missed.

The symptom you are having now sounds like a bad MAF. Is the MAF that you brought OEM?

It is OEM, I'll return it and get another one.
