Timing belt

My 1999 V70XC has 131,000 miles on it. I bought it with 46,000, so have driven nearly 85,000 miles. I drive to Chicago from Santa Fe (1325 miles) a couple times per year and will be going in another month.

I've been thinking about the timing belt. I wouldn't want anything to happen on the road. I've never had it changed.

Should I change it? Is it easy to get inspected and how much would changing it cost?

YES!!!

It should have been done at 105K. Change it AS SOON as you can or your engine may self-destruct.

Estimates will differ, but they wanted between $300-600 to have it done in my area. Don't have it done at a dealer, you're probably looking upwards of $800 to have it done there.
