93 850 no blower
93 850 no blower
My 850 cabin blower not coming on. A/C working but blower won't come on. Fuse not blown. Is there a relay to check? Is there a way to test a ECC blower motor resistor?

Pull out the lining to your glovebox, and check the wires coming out of the blower resistor to the blower itself for voltage. This will tell you whether the motor itself has up and died on you, or the resistor. Once you remove the screws from the lining, it pulls right out and you will be able to see and access both of them.

I found the problem. I took out the blower motor. I could turn it by hand but didn't move as freely as it should. I took motor out of plastic housing. I found a lot of debris between the rear bearing and rotor. Blew it out with air and added a drop of oil to bearing (can't get to front bearing). That seemed to free it up a little. Connected power to blower and it started up. I will order another blower.
Thanks anyway jablackburn!
