You forgot to add ignition switch/tumbler/shifter release problems. My key has been stuck in the ignition for most of the last 90k of the 205k I have on it. Another biggie is the Nivomat shocks in back. Mine died around 90k and I have been waiting for a swap replacement so I didn't have to pay the premium for Nivomats. I will probably dump it before I replace them though. Then there is the door vinyl in the arm rest area that shrinks and pulls away from the door panel.

I'm at 105000km, this year I had to replace the 2nd CV-joint Boot. (Last year the first). The reason might be that the previous owner drove very little.. or whatever. I hope the bearings are still ok, but should be as i spotted it early both times.
Other than that :
1 Throttle Position Sensor
1 Tie rod
Antenna is starting to fail
I bought the car with ~ 50000km.

Hi, First post here. Long time lurker.
Ive owned this 97 850 NA since 2001. Here are the things Ive replaced:
Control Arms
Sway links
Air pump (used VW pump)
ABS module
Front calipers
Sunroof rails (this was a bitch job, involved dropping headliner)
Motor mounts
Currently at 190k miles I now need:
AC EVAP (too much work, so I refill once a year)
Radiator (tiny pinhole leak)
Struts and shocks (these are original....lol)
Weld drivers door pillar

For my 1996 850 GLT, here are the failures over the years. The worst of it was the inability of several shops' to repair the AC. We simply didn't use it for a over a year when the expenditures exceeded $3,000, more than the value of the car at this point.
Starting in 1999 - headlight wiper motor, both have long since failed and not been replaced
2000 - AC evaporator, heat/ac temp sensor, thermostat, car alarm horn
2002 - upper engine mount
2004 - upper engine mount, sway bar link, spring stop
2005 - gas tank recall, rear shocks and mounts
2006 - AC evaporator
2007 - AC compressor
2008 - seat heater recall, ball joint, sway bar links, CV boot, wiper arm (not just the blade), odometer gear
2009 - AC relay
2010 - AC high pressure switch, thermostat, strut spring seat
And at this point, I started doing my own repairs
2010 - interior light plastic rocker switch, gate shocks, ABS module, odometer gear
Latest failure is the horn.

Today my A/C's compressor pulley bearing went dead.
It started about 5 days ago with a noise (very loud in the beginning), but today (after a 20 miles ride) there was a smoke coming out of the engine compartment.
My mechanic showed me something like a burnt plastic near the pulley.
100$ Canadian from the scrap yard for a used one, and I believe tomorrow I will be able to drive it again ...
