code trouble

Post by tipp80 »

Hey everyone,
I got a new problem. When I have the car on, the word "code" is displayed where the radio staion should be shown, and the stereo does not work at all. I checked the codes and they are all the same as before, some are not 111. A7 is 231, and B2 is 122. the thing is that these codes were there when I got the car, and the stereo was working. Nothing seems to have changed with the car, but now the stereo just displays "code." If any has any idea whats wrong, please let me know. Thanks.

The radio is asking for the code that enables it to work. its a theft deterrent, nothing to do with engine. If you have had the battery disconnected or the radio out you will get the CODE display. You probably have to call the dealer and ask for the radio code. Have your VIN number handy cause they will need it.
Good luck
