I have a 1999 Volvo S70 Base, FWD, 2.4 liter, 130000 miles
I was driving the other day and the car died in the middle of the road, like it ran out of gas, but I had 3/4 a tank. I made it home, and my dad, a mechanic, said that the fuel pump was probably done. We replaced the fuel pump, and it didn't solve the problem. The car will start 80% of the time, but when you accelerate, it just dies, like it is out of gas. We then replaced the fuel filter, and that didn't help. The same thing is happening. My dad checked the fuel pressure, and there was hardly any. There are no idiot lights on: service, check engine, etc. This is my only car and I have to have it fixed. What is the problem?
I called the Volvo dealer and they told me there is two outstanding recalls on my car, and one is a throttle body recall. Could that fix the problem?
Replaced fuel pump, filter, and car keeps dying

If you replaced the fuel pump and filter and still have fuel pressure issues it really only leaves the fuel pump relay. You can pass the relay to test the theory. Remove the relay (103) from under the fuse box cover and then use a paper clip to jump the socket positions associated with pins 15 and 87.
