Hi, after overhauling the auto trans on the XC90, t6 AWD, I now have a message keep appearing every time I start the vehicle saying that the "anti-skid is temporarily off", this then changes too "anti-skid service required".
My unhelpful local dealer told me I require a new steering angle sensor at £400+ supplied and fitted. Other people are telling me that the steering angle sensor just needs to be calibrated, Is this possible without the correct diagnostic equipment? The 2 codes the dealer retrieved are 041 and 109. Any advice anyone please.

I'm a BMW specialist so I'm not sure how the system works on volvo's but I do know on Bmw's VW's & mercedes that you can carry out steering angle calibration. This is sometimes nessesary after adjusting the wheel alignment. If I were you I would see if there are any volvo specialists in your area or someone with decent diagnosis equipment.
Hope this helps

Problem fixed. I have taken the vehicle to an established dealer about 20 miles away, they knew straight away from the initial phone conversation how to cure it. Remove the steering wheel and adjust the steering wheel angle sensor. Simple when you talk to the right people. Thanks for taking time out to reply blakey75, it is much appreciated.
