I can't find a clear description of the location in VADIS. Did you read this post?

If you haven't already, do a search on this site for your DTC, P0442 and you will find lots of helpful information.

On my 98 V70 AWD it's in front of the drivers side front wheel well, up underneath and held on by a vertical bolt.

It looks like I will need to remove some of the plastic cladding under the car before I can find this thing.

If yours is where holler 1's is, I am guessing you can get to it from underneath by removing the gravel guard/air dam/skid plate (various names for it). It's easy to take off - only held on with two screws. Even if you need to get to it through the wheel well, it's not hard to remove a couple of screws and kind of peel or fold back the well lining without completely removing it.

Well, after a few days of looking between driving the vehicle, I think the canister is behind a fuel tank at the rear of the vehicle and tucked on top of the driveshaft. Very tight fit. I found the mounting bracket under the driver side wheel well - but it was empty, I guess I will take it into the shop to make sure of where the leak is coming from and they can replace the correct hose. Can't say I didn't try.
