I am finding different descriptions for the codes.

P0116 is a coolant temp sensor range performance problem
P0123 Throttle position sensor circuit A high
P0222 Throttle position sensor circuit B low
P2135 throttle valve faulty signal

If I were you I would test the coolant temp sensor (or replace it) and test the gas pedal and ETM with a meter to see what is going on. A cleaning of the throttle body also can't hurt. Check the plug to see if something is loose or dirty- you did take off the manifold so this is possible. Inspect the connection and plug back in a few times.

You can also plug into an OBD 2 reader (autozone/advance etc) if theres can display the datastream. If so you can see the gas pedal and coolant temp sensor working and see if its accurate.

DOES CLEANING THE THROTTLE BODY JUST CONSIST OF SPRAYING IT DOWN GOOD WITH CLEANER? As far as the testing of thepedal, ect I would need you to walk me thru that if possible. Thanks

Yes.

I prefer B-12 Chemtool and a clean rag as you will be working upside down unless you remove the ETM

But before you do that - Check the connections and harness to the coolant temp sensor and ETM. KNowing that you took off the manifold makes me think the plugs were loose or the harness got pinched somewhere.


I would check the harness first and run it by someone with an OBD2 scanner that displays the datastream. You will be able to see what the coolant temp thinks the engine is at (in temp) at operating temperature. If its got no value then go back to the harness.

I will walk you through whatever you need- no problem.

Back again. sorry for the long delays but when work arises it takes all my free time. anyway good news is upon inspection I found that the throttle body plug was not plugged in probably by my own mistake. Unfortunatly I could'nt get my hand in there so I justy decided best to pull the manifold and do a thourogh inspection since I've had so many problems. If you recall I still have a bolt left from my initial job of the pcv and I'd sure like to figure that out before reassembly. It's 3/4" long and had red thread lock on it. It's not the knock sensor there both in. I'm going to attach some pics don't know if the will help. The throttle body plug should take care of all the codes except the po116 what do you think? Would you put it back together and see what happens with that code? I see from your attachment where the temp sensor is but have not figured out how to get at it. Last question is the manifold gasket looks flat and the engine was hardly run since it was replaced, do you think it's safe to reuse or replace.

Clean everything up and reassemble.
I would replace the gasket if possible. If not a small layer of hylomar will seal it. It may be ok as is but I don't take any risks on air leaks past the MAF

Looks like one of the bolts that hold the coils to the head

If the gasket stayed stuck to the engine would you leave it and just put the sealant on the manifold side?

No those bolts are all in but I remember taking it out during initial tear down I thought it was a clamp securing a wire but I sure cant find where. I remember being suprised it had lock thread on it.

You could but that gasket looks pretty dirty. I deliver everything surgically clean. (its way overboard but thats why folks pay extra) In reality you could gently wipe off the gasket with some rubbing alcohol and hylomar it. Probably work fine.

You are going to have to keep looking for where the bolt goes.
