Thinking about an S60R
Hello All, I've been in love with the S60 R seen some beauty's for sale on line what are the things to look for besides the regular, ie records etc, what are the pros and cons of an s60 r, ive heard the suspension on the R is something to be on the look out for is this true, I've seen them from 12000 to 29000, big gap in between and they are at the higher end when certified pre owned.
I'm currently driving an 850R and I'm looking to get something newer.

I have a 2004 S60R and love it. I have had it from 56K miles and now have about 71K on her and have not had any issues. If I was looking to get an SR today, I would go with an 05 or newer. They have the better AWD (not to say the AWD in the 04 is bad) and the interior looks a little better.
Things to look out for are the timing belt, collar gear, angle gear, pretty much anything with the AWD. Other things are the slave cylinder. Those seem to go bad out of no where and will leave you without a working clutch.

How could I check some of the things you mentioned, at the time I inspect the vehicle, I would guess there isn't a visual way to check it, correct me if I'm wrong.
would the slave cylinder issue be on a manual or auto trani?,
so 05 or newer, If I take the car to a dealer and have them run it on VIDA would any of the mentioned issues be reported?
the timing belt intervals for the S60R is 70 like the 850R or is it 80? can it be DIY
How hard is it to find parts for the car?
and is the car as user friendly as the 850 when it comes to doit your serf repairs etc...
thanks in advance

Timing belt is 105K or 7 years, same as a 99 and newer
About the same to work on but MANY more things are DEALER dependant, codes, software for everything etc.
no issue with parts
Slave cylinder is the clutch fluid cylinder for manuals. They can fail...JUST LIKE THAT and you're stranded and you will need a new clutch even if the disc and plate are good.
The fluid goes over the clutch and ruins it.
If you want me to find you a good R. contact me.
I sell them a bit cheaper than a Volvo dealer can plus I have it all thoroughly checked out at Keystone Volvo, a GOOD Volvo dealer with a GOOD service dept.
I'm in Pa and have personally owned two of the baddest P2 V70Rs there ever were (total of over 6 years since June 2003)
and I know them VERY WELL.
