need to replace my PS pump S60T 02

Post by smarzig »

OK so I "Stupidly" let my fluid go to low due to a p.s. fluid leak. It made noise but I thought it was something else.
When i finally added fluid it was almost bone dry. Now it makes a grinding noise something aweful which I
understand to be the bearings that got beat up with no fluid.

I need direction to replace the leaking fluid housing, and replace the power steering pump (i assume you cant just
replace the bearings) itself. I have done quite a few repairs but would need where to buy a used or new.

FCP GROTON has a rebuilt one for 275 and that seems reasonable (?). I dont see the fluid housing listed anywhere
but it leaks something aweful as well which is what got me into this whole me. The grinding sound of an electric can
opener is HORRIBLE.

Thanks a million in advance for everyone that is going to help me ! :D

my power steering pump (at least thats what I think it is) makes a loud whirring noise when first starting up in the cold, then goes away. The fluid always seems to be leaking out slightly at the cap. Any thoughts on these 2 items?
