Trim Molding Restoration

Post by regent »

I am looking for a method and applicable product to restore the surface of the exterior plastic trim moldings (doors, bumpers, ets) on my 2002 S60 Non-Turbo. As we all know, plastic gets dull (unfortunately) with time and exposure to weather...
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

Try Trim Shine by Stoner....they're the same guys who make Invisible Glass, among (many) other things. I have one of their car care kits that they sell on their website and cannot recommend them highly enough!

The best stuff is FOREVER BLACK but I usually paint mine and it's permanent
Use Grey/Black Bumper Paint, (spray cans) found in any automotive store

I have a 2000 V70XC and it is grey. I bought the bondo restore black from K-Mart but returned it because I found something better! I was at autozone and found Eagle-One Restore Gel. You spray it on a towel and rub it on to the exterior trim and it looks like new. I washed my car today so I have only had it on for 2 days but I will keep you posted how it looks in a few weeks/months... Here is the link to their product site http://www.eagleone.com/pages/products/ ... 7&cat=5010

I have been using the Eagle-One Restore Gel and it seems to last about 4 months.

I find the Eagle One Restore Gel can last anywhere from 2-4 months depending on the amount of rain and dirt etc.Overall very happy with it!

I used a heat gun. Do a youtube search for a video of it that someone else did. Slightly melts the trim to make is dark and shiny like it was new.
