I have the same problem on a 2000 V70. Only difference is car runs very rough. It feels as if the STC system is kicking in on dry pavement. Engine rpm fluctucate very quicky plus or minus 200 rpm. Engine was doing this occasionally the first day. The next day, it became almost undriveavble and the STC and ABS lights came on.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem on my 98 V70 AWD, had it checked out and it's the ABS module. Most shops charge $600, this guy does it for $125

I have sent quite a few of my customers to that gentleman in the link volvodave05 provided above. He does know what he's doing and yes, a lot less than what the dealers want to charge you.
